OUR TRAINING

Our courses provide insight and will give individuals the practical skills required in order to support clients, a friend or relative that has been diganosed with dementia.

Some of our courses provide aspects of underpinning knowledge for National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ’s) in Health and Social Care, Skills for Care Induction and Foundation Standards (formally TOPPS) and Skills for Health. The learning undertaken on our courses can be used to show prior evidence of knowledge gained for those pursuing these educational routes. Please contact us for more information.

Introduction to Dementia

Aim: To provide families, care workers and individuals with the basic knowledge and skills to provide person-centred care to people with dementia.

Lord, It's Still Me! - Dementia & Spirituality

Aim: Exploring ways to reconnect people with dementia to their faith in order to improve their well-being.

Diet, Nutrition and Dementia

Aim: To provide basic information relating to principles of nutrition and food safety handling to staff, family carers and people living with dementia.

Person Centred Dementia Care for people with dementia

Aim: To provide in-depth knowledge of dementia practice skills and exploring the issues surrounding person-centred approach to dementia care. (This course is for those who have already undertaken our ‘Introduction to Dementia’ course.)

Understanding Challenging Behaviour

Aim: To think of ways behaviour may have become challenging due to the onset of dementia and to develop strategies to avoid or manage such behaviours.

Working with People with Dementia from different Cultures

Aim: To provide practitioners with basic knowledge to enable them to support BME people with dementia, to improve their knowledge about dementia and help them to be better informed about the cultural and religious practices of BME people with dementia.

Prices quoted are to accommodate 10-16 attendees per training session. If larger sessions are required, please contact us to discuss further.
Cancellation Fees

  • over 6 weeks’ notice (30 working days) 0% of agreement fee
  • between 6 and 3 weeks’ notice (15-30 working days) 75% of agreed fee
  • with less than 3 weeks’ (15 working days) 100% of agreed fee
